Sports Chiropractic in Robina
Whether you are chasing a personal best, playing a weekend comp, or getting back into training after time at a desk, your body needs good movement, good control, and good recovery.
In our clinic, we often see sports-related issues that build up over time—not just from the sport itself, but from the mix of work, lifestyle, and loading the body hard on weekends.

Common Sports-Related Problems We See
Low Back Pain
Lower back pain that flares with activity, often linked with spinal or pelvic imbalances, muscle fatigue, disc wear, or ongoing low-grade irritation.
Shoulder Pain
Shoulder pain from one-sided, repetitive movements, common in sports that involve throwing or overhead work, including tennis, cricket, and newer favourites like pickleball.
Knee Irritation
Knee irritation and tracking issues that can be aggravated by running, pivoting, and twisting, especially when the hips and pelvis are not sharing load evenly.
Our Approach
We start by identifying what is driving the issue, because the same symptom can have different causes. Shoulder pain may be coming from the shoulder joint itself, or it may be influenced by the neck and posture.
With knee issues, we look at the body from top to bottom, with particular attention to hip and pelvic mechanics, because these can change how pressure travels through the knee.

Improving Movement Quality
Spinal and joint adjustments are used to help restore smoother motion and improve the brain’s awareness of the area, including proprioception—your brain’s ability to sense where a joint is in space and control it well.
Building Strength and Control
That may include core strength for low back loading, posture work for shoulder mechanics, and targeted rehab such as glute and hamstring activation for better lower limb control. We also teach practical warm-ups and preparation strategies for weekend sport.
Kids, Sport, and Performance
We also see active children and teens, especially as more time on devices places extra load through the neck and lower back. When the spine is not moving well, it can affect how the brain coordinates muscles.
Good performance relies on body awareness and control. For some young athletes, improving posture habits and movement patterns can help reduce setbacks and build confidence on the field, court, or in the surf.
Sporting Background
Our team has worked alongside athletes and active communities across a range of settings, including involvement with the NRL, the Gold Coast Basketball Academy through the NBL pathway, and Surfing Queensland, with many clients also connected with Surfing Australia.
We also live the active lifestyle ourselves. Chiropractor Dr Laura Priestley enjoys tennis, and Dr Scott Vatcher plays golf, giving real-world insight into rotational demands, training loads, and common flare-ups active people face.
